A welcome reissue of Still Music's In The Dark compilation. Originally released in 2005, this comp aimed to shine light on Detroit's then-slept-on underground dance music scene. Fast forward 7 years later and it seems that the entire electronic music scene has a serious love affair with anything Detroit, making this re-release more than timely. From the back liner notes: "In the dark is a reality, a small example of how much music and cultural activity thrives in Detroit. all the artists involved in this project are essential creators and perpetuators of the musical heritage of the Motor City. Everyday and night, through their hands, ears and mouths, the future of Detroit's music is being shaped. Nobody can take that away from them. All we can do is listen and dance in the darkness of a sweaty club..." Includes tracks from many influential Detroit producers including Marcellus Pittman, Delano Smith, Rick Wilhite, Kenny Dixon Jr. (aka Moodymann), Mike Huckaby and more. Recommended.
