Overview

Jee Day is the pseudonym of NYC house veteran Dennis McNany, who makes his first appearance on DFA with this record. "Like A Child" originally appeared on Juan Maclean's DJ-Kicks  mix, which had everyone trying to find a way to get their hands on the track. The track is just made for peak time, featuring an energetic house beat and some fantastic echoed-out vocals that provide an affect akin to being caught in the current of a rushing river. Run Roc provides a great, ravey acid-house dub that coaxes the original bass line out of its shell a bit. Also includes the slo-disco b-side "Snake Bite," which features some weird cosmic flourishes. Recommended.
