Sound In Color producer Exile and Bridgetown mic blazer Blu team up for their full LP. The album is titled Below The Heavens, which is funny, because from the look on Blu's face on the front, I'd say he's IN heaven. And why wouldn't he be? It's been a minute since I seen him promoting his solo CD at the NY office and I'm sure it feels good to get this shit out. Especially when you got someone as solid as Exile behind the boards. I mean, they're no strangers when collaborating on singles, but a whole album really gives space to sink your teeth into the music. Just check the beats and rhymes on "My World Is...," "The Narrow Path," "Juicen' Dranks ft. TaRaach," "Blu Collar Workers," "The World Is (Below The Heavens)," and the bonus track "You Are Now In The Clouds With(The Koochie Monstas)." Exile flexes all his production muscle on this, going in between beautiful and the bad, and Blu's rhymes paint an honest vision. The bonus track kills me every time too. Ever see Robin Williams in Popeye? I revisited it a couple years back on a date, and fell asleep only to wake up snoring at the credits while my date was all wide eyed. It's Popeye the movie musical for G's sake! Seriously, not worth revisiting. Unless you produce a beat with Olive Oil's love song!
