LAB REVIEW
Akai's MPD2 series builds upon the success of the original MPD controller series with improved control and performance. The MPD218 is a MIDI-over-USB controller that features ultra sensitive, thick backlit pads. These pads are amazingly responsive and offer the classic MPC feel that Akai is famous for. In addition, the MPD218 also features expanded control set of six knobs in three banks (versus one control on the previous model) for increased control over effects, plus iPS compatibility (with Camera Conversion kit - sold separately) and bundled software including Ableton Live Lite, Akai Pro MPC Essentials, Sonivox Big Bang Cinematic Percussion and Big Bang Universal Drums.
