Much hyped release from Oakland's Squadda B and Mondre Man aka Main Attrakionz. 808's & Dark Grapes may prove to be the next step in hip hop's constant evolution with a sound that can be thrown into the whole "Cloud Rap" movement, but with something more upon closer inspection. With beats are provided by of-the-moment producers like Clams Casino, Friendzone, and Marlee B, plus guest raps from A$AP Rocky, it's easy to see why this already has the internets goin' nuts, but if you look past the hype machine you will find the album warrants the raves and praises. Refreshing future hip-hop beats are in abundance - all bass heavy but with a decidedly left field/atmospheric slant - all topped with spacey, net-savvy raps delivered with that casual Bay Area swagger that sits so well in the mix. Check "Bossalinis & Fooliyones Pt.2," "Chuch," "Incredible," "Perfect Sounds," "Perfect Skies," "Chosen," and "Take 1" with A$AP Rocky for a taste of Main Attrakionz hazy rap vision. 15 tracks on limited double vinyl.
