What a 12"! Chicago's esteemed Stilove4music label is killing the disco edit game with their limited black label releases. Their latest offering is a split 12" from NYC's Bim Marx (aka Negroclash's Duane Harriott and Italians Do It Better representer Professor Genius) and the debut of Master Khan (a new alias for The Twilight Tone). With a team up like this you can bet this is gonna be heat. The Bim side starts off with the burning uptempo disco soul of "Don't Fall." Pumping drums, hype horns, and great female vocals will surely get the floor moving. Next up is "Lend A..." that changes the pace and brings things down to pure soul grooves for the lover in you. Master Khan starts off the flip with the supercharged drums of "Calypso." Then the bass kicks in and some crazy "coo coo kachoo" chants and you know it's a party. No idea what the original for this is, but just glad to have this version in the crate! "Perfect Peace" rounds the thing out on a killer filtered loop steez. These aren't gonna be around for long so go on and add to cart. Recommended.
