Pioneer DJ steps into the world of production with the powerful and intuitive Toraiz SP-16. This sampler/sequencer unit boasts a robust and versatile feature set that includes a standalone 16-step/256-pattern sequencer, analog filters co-developed by Dave Smith (as used in the Prophet-6), an impressive 7" full-color touchscreen, and 8GB of internal memory, pre-loaded with 2GB worth of Loopmasters samples. With its 16-track sequencer, built-in mixer and 8 separate outputs, the SP-16 can be used on its own for beat production without the use of a laptop, or connect with other Pioneer gear (such as CDJ's or XDJ's) via the proprietary Pro DJ Link to Beat Sync one-shots and loops. Additional features include 16 velocity-sensitive performance pads w/ multicolor LEDs to trigger one-shots + loops or live finger drumming, 6 assignable rotary knobs, touch strip for pitch shift + note repeat, and top panel USB slot for additional memory and loading samples + loops.
