LAB REVIEW

With the TRM-202 MK3, Omnitronic has taken their affordable compact rotary mixer and made it even better! The MK3 boasts an improved layout that places master volume and headphone controls in the center of both channels giving the mixer a familiar, more intuitive feel. In addition, the actual knobs (now Moog-style) on the vintage ALPS potentiometers have been improved for a better tactile feel. The TRM-202 MK3 inherits all the other great features from the previous model, many of which are typically found in expensive boutique mixers, but at a surprisingly affordable price point. The mixer's small footprint, all rotary design, and built-in 3-band isolator draws easy comparisons to high end units (like the E&S DJR400), though the accessible price is a welcome difference. Additional features include 2-band EQ, gain, and phono/line switches for each of the mixer's two channels. The knobs have just the right amount of resistance on the volume and isolator knobs for long effective mixing, plus thoughtful details like a 12 o'clock notch on the EQ knobs and phono gain controls on the back side of the mixer. The headphone output has a cue-mix or split function selectable to your preference, and the mixer has professional XLR outputs (as well as RCA + booth out) for hooking up at the club. The mixer itself feels solid, with a nice weight to it - yet its compact size lends itself to portability. High quality components ensure great sound, while the solid build and compact size make the mixer more portable than most. An excellent choice for beginners that want to experience a rotary style DJ mixer, as well as veterans who are looking for something fun and portable. Recommended. Important Note: the mixer comes with a Euro style power plug, an adapter is necessary for use in North America but NOT INCLUDED.
