Audio-Technica brings together hi-fi performance, sleek design, and digital connectivity in one affordable audiophile turntable with the AT-LP5. The turntable is loaded with features to ensure an excellent vinyl listening experience - DC direct drive motor for stable speed rotation (much more reliable than belt driven models), built-in switchable phono/line preamp (gives you the option of using a phono preamp OR connecting directly to a line level input), J-shaped tonearm (based on original 60's and 70's AT designs) for minimizing tracking errors, and a low resonance chassis structure (combined with included rubber mat) to eliminate unwanted resonance. The AT-LP5 also features convenient USB output with included Audactity software for creating digital files (mp3, wav, etc.) of your vinyl. Comes complete with high performance AT95EX dual moving magnet cartridge pre-mounted on a lightweight HS10 headshell for easy plug and play use right out of the box.
