LAB REVIEW
These compact bookshelf-speakers offer sound quality and performance beyond their size with a nice bass punch and a flat frequency response (less sound coloring, add your own through equalization). In addition, Audioengine has fully thought out the design and construction with high quality parts (shielded real wood cabinets, Kevlar woofers, silk tweeters, upgraded connections) and built in Bluetooth connectivity. The B2 can stream high quality audio from your Bluetooth enabled smartphone, computer, or tablet. The set up is simple and does not require any special browsers or software. The B2 uses the aptX codec, which is a high-quality audio converter designed specifically for audio (the same one found in their popular B1 Bluetooth Music Receiver). It also has a wider range than most other Bluetooth enabled speakers on the market. Recommended.
