Angel Olsen’s 3rd full length album is is stunning. She dropped Burn Your Fire For No Witness in 2013, and stop if you are expecting something similar; you’ll be in for a "stable surprise" with My Woman. Take a quick listen to the synth-laden "Intern," and it becomes apparent that Olsen has taken a different approach to production, and we’ve learned that Justin Raisen, who’s worked with the likes of Sky Ferreira and Charli XCX, has leant his pop expertise for this one. "Shut Up Kiss Me" is another track that we've been privy to, and the grunge-rock aesthetic is a bit more in your face, which is not a bad thing. As far as lyrical content is concerned, track titles like "Sister" and "Woman," as well as the title track do provide some clues, and Olsen states: "I’m definitely using scenes that I’ve replayed in my head, in the same way that I might write a script and manipulate a memory to get it to fit." 10 tracks in all, housed in a beautiful gatefold sleeve.
